Beauty, safety, and perfect wind conditions

What Makes Orient Bay So Special?

Orient Bay, on the eastern coast of Saint Martin, is one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets for watersports.

Thanks to steady trade winds blowing almost year-round, riders enjoy consistent conditions with side-onshore breezes that make the spot both safe and fun — especially for beginners and freeriders.

The bay offers a  long stretch of soft sand, perfect for launching and landing, and opens onto a stunning turquoise lagoon with shallow, crystal-clear water where sea turtles often glide beneath your board.

A natural coral reef sits just offshore, creating the ideal balance between calm, flat water inside the lagoon and playful waves beyond — making Orient Bay a perfect playground whether you're learning, progressing, or just out to enjoy a beautiful session in the sun.

= safe and fun

The wind blows diagonally toward the beach (side-onshore, starboard tack), which means it naturally brings you back to shore — ideal for beginners, and stress-free for more advanced riders.
