ABOUT US

Tropical Ride is a watersports school born from passion, island roots, and a love for the ocean.

In 2025, Lea & Julien Quentel, both from Saint Martin, took over the school to bring new energy to this iconic spot. Julien is a professional windsurfer with over 15 years of experience on the PWA World Tour, known for his calm, technical approach and deep connection to the sea.  After traveling the world, he’s come home to share what he knows — and loves — with others.

Lea brings her warm personality and a strong sense of hospitality to the heart of the school. She makes sure each rider, beginner or advanced, feels welcomed, safe, and supported throughout the experience.

Together, they’ve built a space where anyone can ride, learn, and enjoy the spirit of Saint Martin — with top-level coaching and a relaxed, friendly vibe.

Meet

Julien

Julien Quentel, born and raised in Saint Martin, is a professional windsurfer who’s competed for over 15 years on the PWA World Tour, with podium finishes and international recognition. After traveling the world and riding the planet’s best spots, he’s back on his home island — not just to ride, but to give back. His experience, calm teaching style, and deep knowledge of the ocean make him a one-of-a-kind coach.

Lea

Lea, also from Saint Martin, has always had a love for the sea and the island lifestyle. She runs the daily life of Tropical Ride with care, attention to detail, and a big smile. From first contact to post-session chats, she’s the one making sure every rider feels welcome, safe, and stoked.

Together, they’ve built a school that reflects who they are: passionate, approachable, and rooted in the Caribbean.
